So I went to the circus this weekend and it was the saddest and funniest circus I have ever been too!
THERE WASN'T EVEN A LION! I wanted to see a lion. They only had ponies, 2 elephants, and poodles....poodles!!

But I was surrounded by good company so it was hilarious!

So I watch "No Reservations," twice yesterday and I think it is now on my top 5 of movies! My favorite quote of that movie is "The best recipes are the ones you make yourself." POW! That was something deep that I needed to hear.

On another note, at the age of 23, it is hitting me that I will discover something new about myself until the day I die. I always thought that I had to know who I was, who I wanted to be, and yada yada ya at this time.
That is not the case. I don't know why I put so much pressure upon myself like that....

OK OK NOW I CAN SPEAK!! We weren't allowed to tell anyone we made it until Monday!!!!! I have been going through tryouts for Shades (college stepping squad) allllll last week! The official tryouts were that Friday and I MADE ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT! I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF. I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT I WOULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS EVER!!!!!! We had a newcomer show today in the campus center today and we performed for fellow students! We even had a crowd. I have never felt like a team in my life but being welcomed in to Shades has been one of the best things that has happened to me this year. I have met so many genuine ppl that are apart of Shades and I can't wait to really get to know them!!!!

I have so much confidence in myself and feel great about life right now. I am at a good point right now!!!
Can't wait to see what the future holds!!!

Can't have skills without practice

This week has been the longest week of my life.
Practice. Practice. Practice. Practice. Practice
Tryouts.
School Work.
Mentally it has been rough. But right now I feel stronger than what I have in the past. (that's good)
Physically the body is getting there. Lotsa work ahead though.
But it's going down this summer!!!

My only weakness right now is getting on a good sleep schedule+studying.

Everything else is good! My synopsis of these past 7 days is that I will never succeed without practice and confidence without that I might as well never even try.

I used to be so nervous around ppl period. But now that is out the window because I have the confidence in MYSELF!

Im so glad I am doing what I am doing!!!! All I keep saying this week is WHO would have thought that I would be where I am right now!?!??!

I can't wait for Monday!!

It is the summer time and I want to find a job for the summer so I can have some extra change in my pocket. I also want to go to Maryland to visit my family on my dad's side that I have NEVER met before.

Went fishing with my brother../he came home with 7 catfish. I'm very proud of him!

POSITIVITY IS KEY TO LIFE!!!!! If you are not positive about 95% over things in your life man on man. It is possible to become very closed minded and negative about everything in your life.
I don't want to waste energy being negative. Instead from this point on I am going to be positive and optimisitic about what ever I come across in my journey of life....

I need a positive outlet for my feelings because I am starting to affect the people I care most about! I become so much needed!

I looked at myself in the mirror this morning and I didn't like what I saw. I feel run down and broken. At the start of this semester I was feeling good about myself and my priorites were all in line and slowly I started falling apart. Where it started I don't know, but one thing is for sure I can't be doing the same things I was doing in past years. I can't live my life without God anymore. I've come to far to just throw everything away.

Being lukewarm is not the ticket.....I have to either be hot or cold!!!
A spirit full of worldly things stays as full as a water bucket with a hole in it!

I need to consume myself of God and not of what this world is giving me. I keep feeling that void with worldy things and I am still empty. That should give me a sign that a change needs to happen! RIGHT?!?!?

I haven't drawn anyting on my own time this whole semester!! It is so shameful!!! I am an art major and have no motivation what's so ever to sketch something at all. I have doodled on some paper throughout a boring class but nothing with substance, nothing that screams a potential. I think I need to change my scenary up real quick! I have some great ideas which I feel have potential, but I think my problem is I am afraid of failure!! I JUST SAID A MOUTH FULL RIGHT THERE!!!

Sooo update on the guy thing....man o man. Let's just say I lived and I learned!! I am glad I learned that it is not a good idea to let my guard down so fast. I have never been a person to trust real easily, but mannnn, I did this time because it was something new and exciting, and I was heavily let down!! But I know now that getting to know someone is important. I am not anyone's side piece or someone that they can just call whenever I pop into their head. I am a person that deserves to be first place not second to none!

Sooooo....it has been a minute since I have put up anything Spring Break and a very interesting week before that have kind of detoured me from my regular scheduled plans! I have been going out every weekend, going out clubbing. I wouldn't call it clubbing, just dancing and drinking a few drinks with my bestfriend. It has been fun but lately it is becoming bland. Have I partied sooo much that it has become boring? Does it not captivated my mind like it used too!? I don't know but I am to a point right now where I don't want to do that stuff anymore. A casual drink is okay but the clubbing stuff can go. I am over it!! No joke. At least for now I am.

I have homework to turn in and it is 50% finished. I have no motivation to do any of it! My mind is preoccupied with other matters.....(to be continued)

I had to do a sketch for a project in Advanced Drawing. It was an awesome practice round. I thought to myself that I could recreate that same look on a bigger scale for the final project. WRONG! To give you more insight it is a self portrait all in a cross hatch system. I started drawing on a bigger scale and literally fear came over me. I doubted every ability I have ever had. It turned out to be a BIG OL MESS! I was not impressed at ALLLLL! I couldn't even look at it. If it wasn't for being in class I would have literally took a lighter and burned that bix to ASHES....do you hear me!?!?!?!?! I WAS UPSET.

I was probably thinking too much about the process so nothing was what I predicted to be. But I guess everything does not come out how you plan it. So this weekend I will be trying different techniques to get the best darn A I can! I will not let the scale of a project scare me?

Boot Camp

I am taking Fitness Boot Camp and let me say it WAS kicking my butt. After the initial shock of my intense teacher, I told myself that I was going to work hard and kick some ass. With 2 weeks down and the 3rd starting I am more fearless and have pushed myself harder than I ever have in my life. I am proud of myself and the rest of my class. We are gonna be so in some of the best shape of our lives by the end of our course.

Sometimes people should lend an ear to someone who needs to express their inner thoughts. I had a very interesting conversation with a peer. that was in desperate need of some assistance. And let me just say God was in the midst of that conversation! (how you duwin?!?) The only way I knew to help her was tell her about my experience about the situation, not my opinion. I pray that it helped her in some way.

Another thing. I learned the hard way that it is not healthy to holding everything in. Everything has a boiling point.

I don't want to be mediocre anymore I don't want to half step across the bridge. NO! NO! There is so much I have to do for God. I have to be in His Will. It is for God that I live and none else, not even for myself.

I am just thrown out of wack right now....teary-eyed...and all that jazz. I have heard so much positive comments today and inspirational words today. I saw love today, from a whole bunch of folks. I saw love. This just reminds me that God loves me more than I could imagine. yes yes.

I am watching Biggest Loser Premiere and one of the women said she has not been in love before and she is 30. I know folks who found love much later in life.

I am not 30, and I wonder why it seems like a bad thing to not have found love later in life. Personally I have seen people get married at the age of 20-25. THEY ARE DIVORCED BEFORE THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS EVEN RIP.

I would rather find love later in life then get married early in life without ever having a solid foundation of who I AM and who the person is I am marrying....

I never knew how taking a 5 minute break to stretch is so mentally effective. Man I feel so much better. Instead of sitting on the couch or at a desk for hours at a time, take a moment a play some music and stretch.....I feel relaxed. WHO KNEW! Why didn't I do this before?!?!?!

Being Content and Making Improvements

I looked at everything I possessed and I though I wanted more. I have what I need for right now. I am content with that.

I am grateful for all that I have and in due time, I can add to my colleection of stuff. But that is exactly what it is stuff. I have more important things to improve!

FORGIVENESS AND LETTING GO

I didn't have the best childhood growing up, but my mom made it the best she could for me and my brothers. My stepfather was an asshole and that is mainly the reason why growing up was filled with such awful memories. He was never there for my tennis tournaments, or my brothers football games. Though we knew he wasn't coming, deep down inside there was HOPE, HOPE this sorry man would come watch. Whether it was for a couple of minutes or a few hours. But he never evvvver showed. (But that is not why I am posting this.)

My mom told me an incident that happened with a family member. I'll just say this....You want someone to come watch you play your games, so they can be proud and watch you kick butt. But he never showed. Somewhere within yourself you wanted him to come, matter fact you really really thought he was coming. BUT HE NEVER SHOWED AND YOU CRY. Though you have grown hard to this person, because of the heartbreak he has put your family through, you still have some feeling that he isn't coldhearted.

When I heard this, it brought back memories that I have suppressed for so long. I had such hatred and disgust for my stepfather I wanted to destroy is everything. But I didn't because I knew that wasn't my place. God has our lives in His hands and I knew that was enough to get us through ANYTHING!

For me to get upset shows me that I NEED TO STILL DO SOME FORGIVING AND LETTING GO.
